Conservators make the items to be readable and available. For who?

The stakeholder of cultural heritage is the whole world. The exhibition is the best occasion to show to the public the items that represent our culture, our history, our life. Exhibitions can stay for months. During that period the items have to be protected. It’s important to think about all kind risks and their solutions as: mounting is important for flat objects that need to be framed; supports (i.e. cradles) are mandatory, especially for books; checking the lights it’s important during the installation for the safety of the objects.

It’s important to think about all risks in loans too.

Items have to be packed correctly and transported by specialized transport company. A conservator-courier have to be present in the whole steps of the transport: packing before transport; unpacking at the arrival; mounting of the intems in the exhibition; dismounting of the intems from the exhibition; packing before transport back; unpacking at the arrival.

Condition report has to be updated during the main steps of the loan (before, during, after).
